Health Policy
Children attending school must be in good health. If your child is sick, please keep them home for the health and well-being of the other members of their class and families. Please notify us if there is any major afflictions such as chicken pox, measeles, mumps, scarlet fever, impetigo, conjuctivitis, fifth's disease or any other communicable disease. A note from the doctor will be required for the child to be re-admitted to class after the illness.
Please use discretion in sending your child to school with regards to colds and viruses. We have an area set aside to accommodate the mildly ill child, if they have become uncomfortable in class during the day, until the parent can be reached and arrive to take the child home.
We require that each child have an emergency card on file in the event that basic first-air and/or CPR must be administered. Our staff is trained and certified in both areas.
With written permission, we may administer most over-the-counter and some prescribed medications to assist in treatment.
Please refer to our written illness policy, or call for advice on how to handle any specific instance not outlined.
